Hi, I’m Jess! As the founder of Sunshine Lactation, I’ve spent the past decade providing compassionate, personalized support to families throughout our community. My passion for this work is deeply personal, shaped by my own early life experiences and my journey through motherhood. I truly believe that when mothers are genuinely cared for, supported, and nurtured, they are better equipped to care for their babies from a place of confidence and abundance.

After years of living and traveling throughout the Asia-Pacific region, I returned home and planted roots in Atlantic Beach, where I now serve local families with warmth, encouragement, and practical, judgment-free guidance. When I’m not supporting families, you can find me surfing, searching for sharks’ teeth and sparkly rocks, or spending time with my three children.

Bel Fernandez, RN, BSN, IBCLC

Lactation Consultant

Hi, I’m Bel! I bring together my experience as a registered nurse, lactation consultant, and mother of three to offer practical, compassionate support to families here at Sunshine Lactation. My passion for this work grew out of my own feeding journeys—I breastfed each of my three children for two years while navigating all the uncertainty, challenges, and emotional moments that come with infant feeding.

Those experiences inspired me to make sure other parents feel informed, encouraged, and never alone. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you feel heard and empowered, no matter how you choose to feed your baby. Outside of work, I love reading, gardening, exploring local parks with my family, and relaxing at home in North Jacksonville with my kids and our many pets!
